The mission would have involved a speedboat chase and a final fight on a beach. This was probably after Carver's story arc was removed. The training mission was only removed late in development, sometime between builds 290 and 328. Vasquez in the final version of the mission. He is seen in USMC gear in The Bog with a different voice actor.
